Healthy Eyes Make-up remover for beautiful lashes

DIY project

Here’s my quick and easy recipe of eye make-up remover.  It should be use (ideally) evey night before you are going to bed.  By making you own make-up remover, you will be able to control what ingredients will be in it.  This is a great way to make sure it doesn’t containt harsh and sometime toxics chemicals such as: PEG, Propanediol or propylen glycol, dimethicone, poloxamer 184, parfum (fragrance), BHT, etc….

Bonus, It will also help nourrish and rejuvenate your lashes.

You will need the following ingredients:

  • Fractionated Coconut oil: Because some specifics components have been removed, the fractionated coconut oil will always stay liquid.  It’s lighter, odorless, non-greasy and has great cleanising and moisturizing properties.
  • Witch Hazel hydrosol (Hamamelis virginiana): Wonderful astringent that is beneficial for skin toning and refining pores.  Excellent ingredient for anti-aging skin care.
  • Cornflower hydrosol (Centaurea cyanus): Also work as an astringent,  it’s very soothing for the skin, will help reduce apprerance of wrinkles, help plumping skin cells.  It is also wonderful for healing scars and wounds. By adding this to your eye make-up remover, you will help reduce the appearance of puffy and tired eyes.
  • High quality essential oils of Lavender, cedarwood and rosemary.  You dont’ want to use cosmetic or perfume grade essential oils.  You must trust the source where your oils are coming from.
  • If you would like to use the same essential oils that I do, click here and i’ll be able to help you and guide you with this.
  • A container to keep your eye make-up remover.

Now, you only need to mix the following proportion together.  I didn’t use quantity because your container might be bigger or smaller, but the proportion are always the same.

  • 1/4 Witch Hazel hydrosol
  • 1/4 Cornflower hydrosol
  • 1/2 Fractionnated coconut oil

The size of your container will determine the number of drops to use for your eye make-up remover.

For 100 ml, I would add 6 drops of essential oils (2 drops of each).

There are many benefits to use therapeutic grade essential oils.  I am limited in what I can say or write as I have to be compliant.  But here are a few of their amazing properties.

Improve the lifetime and quality of your mascara

You can also add 1 drop of Lavender and 1 drop of rosemary to your mascara tube.

I have been doing this for a couple of years now and it never alterated the quality of my mascara.  Instead, I notice that it helped my lashes to be healthier.

Just give it a try for a month and let me know how it worked for you.

I recommend that you take before and after picture of your lashes…

Keep it healthy, Have a great day
